Waterproof leather developed by Japan's premier tannery, Sanyo Co., Ltd., using a proprietary recipe incorporating 3M's Scotchgard™ technology. North American steer leather is tanned using the chrome tanning method, renowned for its stability and durability. The Scotchgard™ waterproofing agent is then penetrated deep into the leather's fibre structure within a dyeing drum. This process ensures the waterproofing effect is said to last semi-permanently.
